I have a '97 Chevy 350HD 6.5 diesel...I have a knock in the engine and low on power; overhauled the engine, put new pump, new injectors, new crank sensor, still knocked. Two diesel shops told me it was the lower end, so I finally gave in and put in a new crate motor.
1994 2500 chevy pickup for sale. 6.5 turbo diesel engine that uses water. New radiator and new starter. Tires are good. Have not run in the last two years.
The 6.5 L diesel has always had certain structural weaknesses. Cracking in the main webs of the blocks and in the number seven and eight cylinders, blown head gaskets and broken crankshafts have all been common issues over the years.
